About lindly
lindly is a calm, shared baby tracker built by one person, in the open, for tired parents who'd like their family's data treated as theirs. Here's the honest version of who's behind it and why.
Who builds this
lindly is built by Jeremy — one developer, not a big company and not a venture-backed team. That's a deliberate choice: a small, independent project can answer plainly to the people who use it, make privacy the default instead of a marketing line, and say no to the surveillance-ad business model most apps quietly rely on. When this page says “we,” it means one person and the handful of principles below.
Why lindly exists
In a baby's first year you're asked — often by your own pediatrician — to keep track of a surprising amount: how often and how much the baby feeds, wet versus dirty diapers, sleep, the occasional measurement. Today that happens on paper, in the Notes app, or across two or three mediocre apps, and none of it syncs between the two parents and the grandparent or nanny who share the care.
“Did you already feed her?” at 3 a.m. is a real, recurring problem. lindly exists to answer it: one shared, real-time timeline that every caregiver in a Home logs to, built to be used one-handed in the dark, and calm on purpose — no streaks, no guilt, no manufactured anxiety.
The Swiss-hosting story
Infant health data, shared across the people you trust most, deserves an answer to “where does it live?” that's a specific place on a map — not a shrug. For lindly that place is Switzerland: every server that stores or processes your family's data runs in Google Cloud's Zurich region (europe-west6). It's not a default we happened to land on; it's a hard requirement enforced in the infrastructure, so nothing can quietly deploy your data somewhere else.
Choosing a single Swiss region is genuinely harder than sprawling across the cheapest global infrastructure — it constrains things like backups and disaster recovery. We took that on deliberately, because data residency is only meaningful if you actually commit to it. A short, honest list of what can't be Swiss-pinned (push metadata, payment processors, any AI assistant you choose to connect) lives on the privacy page — health content stays in Switzerland in every case.
What we'll never do
Some lines aren't up for revisiting as lindly grows:
- No ads, and no selling or sharing your data for advertising. lindly makes money from subscriptions — your child's data is not the product.
- No third-party ad trackers in the app. Because there's nothing to consent to, the site needs no cookie banner.
- No dark patterns, no fake urgency, no guilt copy. Declining is always neutral and one tap.
- No gamification of your baby's care — no streaks to break, no red badges for a “missed” log.
Where things stand
lindly is pre-launch. The app is being readied, the privacy and terms pages are honest drafts pending legal review before launch, and a few things described across the site (Premium pricing, growth charts, pediatrician PDF reports, the MCP endpoint) are announced or launching, not yet live — we mark those plainly wherever they appear. If you'd like to know the moment it's ready, the launch note is the only email we'll ever send you.
